Hernia Surgery

We treat all types of hernias, from common inguinal (groin) hernias to complex recurrent large abdominal wall hernias.

Inguinal hernias may be repaired with laparoscopic (minimally invasive) techniques or open methods with a small groin incision under local or general anesthesia, nearly always on an outpatient basis. Results with these newer techniques have achieved very low recurrence rates, even in patients who have had multiple prior hernia repairs.

Abdominal wall hernias, even those that are massive and have been repaired elsewhere previously, can often be successfully treated laparoscopically with excellent long-term results.
